Approvals

Hastings has been granted all environmental approvals required for its early works programme, which includes construction of an access road and accommodation village, and an extension of the access road to the process plant area, which may be used as a temporary exploration camp site and laydown area for long-lead items. This early works program enabled further exploration and environmental investigative studies to progress while the site-wide environmental approval was under assessment.

The Environmental Review Document was advertised to the public in October 2018. All submissions to the EPA Services were of technical nature from government departments. A positive outcome was that there were no comments from the general public suggesting overall support for the Project. This aligns with Hastings consultation with the public in the Gascoyne Region. The Project is expecting to receive the Ministerial Statement granting the environmental permit with conditions in Q3, 2019.

Secondary site-wide approval applications are either in preparation or have been submitted to the respective government department. Hastings aims to submit these Approvals applications prior to the release of the Ministerial Statement to enable parallel processing and ensure they are approved shortly afterwards so that the construction phase can be initiated in its entirety in Q3-Q4, 2019.
