Alwyn Vorster

Alwyn Vorster has 30 years’ experience in the Australian, African and Asian minerals industries. He has worked across a range of commodities including iron ore, coal, mineral sands, graphite, salt, potash and other industrial minerals. Alwyn has a proven track record of leading teams through all phases of the mining value chain – from exploration, project studies, approvals, development, infrastructure access, corporate transactions, to sales and shipping.

He was most recently Managing Director of BCI Minerals Ltd from 2016 to 2022 where the Mardie Salt and Potash Project was developed from inception to construction. Alwyn was also Managing Director of Iron Ore Holdings Ltd from 2010 to 2014, and is currently Non-Executive Director of ChemX Materials Ltd and Arrow Minerals Ltd. Other senior management positions include Head Iron Ore and Manganese of Aquila Resources Pty Ltd and Regional Marketing Manager China for Rio Tinto Iron Ore in Singapore.

Alwyn’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Science (Hons) Geology, an MBA and a Master of Science (Mineral Economics).
